The state-run telecom operator launched two new prepaid plans BSNL Rs 58 plan and  BSNL Rs 59 plan for its  prepaid customers. The struggling telco keeps bringing new offers and plans to lure its customers and prevent them from porting to other networks. The BSNL Rs 58 plan is a data voucher while the BSNL Rs 59 plan is a regular plan.

Plans details explained below.

BSNL Rs 58 Plan

The BSNL Rs 58 plan is a data voucher and it will work only with an active plan.  The plan has a validity of 7 days. This plan comes with 2GB of daily data and  after the consumption of FUP (fair usage policy) data, the speed will be restricted to 40 Kbps. The calling and SMS facility is not included in this plan.

The BSNL Rs 59 prepaid plan is a regular plan with validity of 7 days. This plan comes with unlimited voice calling and daily 1GB of data. It is worth noting there are no SMS benefits bundled with this plan. The main difference between these two new plans is that BSNL Rs. 59 prepaid plan offers with unlimited voice calling and data whereas BSNL Rs 58 prepaid plan offers only data with an active plan. Both plans have the same 7 days of validity.

Apart from launching attractive plans, BSNL needs to launch 4G to prevent losing customers at a very fast pace. The BSNL lost 18 millions subscribers in the last financials year and 2.3 millions subscribers in March 2024 alone and. The BSNL employees asked the government to allow the temporarily use Vodafone idea’s 4G network especially as it is the largest shareholder in the operator. We hope the Government will take an early action for the betterment of BSNL.
