In last week Airtel recharge plans have increased by 20-25 percent. So In this article, we have compared Airtel recharge plans of 84 days validity with other telecom operators.
The prepaid tariffs are recently increased by all three major private telecom operators in India. Last week Airtel, Vi( Vodafone Idea ), and Reliance Jio have announced their revised prepaid tariff which is increased by up to 20-25%, citing the need for higher Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) and to address the financial stress faced by the telecom industry.
The last major hikes in prepaid tariffs by all telecom operators were done in December 2019, after a gap of 2 years once again prepaid plan offers by these companies become costlier by up to 25 Percent while offering the same benefits as before. After seeing this massive increase in price people got very angry and they express their anger on social media platforms. Many hashtags like #BoycottAirtelVodaJio are trending on Twitter that shows people are not happy with this increase in tariffs.
The state-owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is the only telecom operator that has not increased its prepaid tariffs as of now. BSNL already offers a better-prepaid plan than its rivals. Now it becomes more attractive than previous. So, the question arises does it make sense to switch to BSNL?
Definitely, BSNL is offering its prepaid plan at much cheaper rates than its competitor but in the upcoming days or months, BSNL will also increase its tariff rates because they also need money to survive in this cutthroat competitive market. Suppose BSNL will also increase its prepaid plan in the future still, BSNL will definitely keep its prepaid tariff rates lower compared to its rivals and offer better value for money plans. The only biggest problem BSNL has a lack of 4G services. BSNL offers 4G service in many areas by using its 3G spectrum still, a major part of India is covered by 2G /3G only. yesterday, the Minister of state for communication Devusinh Chauhan replied in a written to parliament that BSNLwill rollout its 4G service by September 2022 across the pan India.

BSNL Rs 499 Recharge Plan
Coming to last, the state-owned operator BSNL offers a Rs 499 prepaid plan that is probably one of the most affordable ones present in the market. The plan is packed with 2GB of data per day for 84+6 =90 days of validity. You also get unlimited voice calls, including Delhi and Mumbai circles. Apart from this plan also free BSNL tunes and Zing Music subscription for free for the entire period of validity.
if you see the above comparison definitely BSNL is offering better value of money among all other telecom operators, but as we said earlier the only major downside is the lack of 4G service by BSNL. On the other hand, if we compared private telecom operators, Jio is offering a slightly cheaper plan than Airtel and Vi.
In my opinion, before making any decision to port-out/port-in first, check which operator is offering better data speed and calling service in your area.
